Alexis joined the Hope House staff in May 2021 as an operations assistant. A few months later, she transitioned into the office administrator role where she took on operational, financial and administrative responsibilities. A year into her work at Hope House, she was then promoted to development coordinator, a position that allows her to build relationships with champions as she shares the mission of empowering teen moms through event planning, fundraising and speaking engagements. Alexis graduated in December 2020 from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in human services, a concentration in nonprofit studies and a minor in water studies. Alexis brings academic and professional experience in nonprofits. For instance, for the past seven years, Alexis has volunteered with Happy Crew, a nonprofit focused on destigmatizing mental health issues in teens by creating community. Her experiences there have afforded her great experiences in advocacy, grant writing, fundraising, database management and speaking engagements. She has a passion for serving others, especially those in underserved communities such as teen moms. Alexis is a Colorado native who enjoys several outdoor activities like running, hiking and volunteering at various organizations.
