It’s that time of year for Parent Teacher Conferences, an important communication tool in any educational program. Recently Hope House hosted 16 conferences with teen moms who are active at Hope House and whose children participate in our Early Learning classes.
Held by our Parenting Educator and Early Learning Program Coordinator, these conferences are designed to coordinate what our teen moms are learning in their Parenting classes at Hope House with what her child is learning in our Early Learning classes. Staff members are able to work together and share observations, resulting in a conference that is a holistic as it is personal. The conferences are also designed to prepare our teen moms for parent teacher conferences when her child enters Kindergarten.
Our teen moms report they love their Parent Teacher Conferences.
“As a mother, I was excited to hear and learn so much about my son,” said Hope House teen mom Cassandra. “The conference also gave me an idea of how to prepare myself for the future with his teachers. Now that I have become a mother, I have to learn how to be professional and know when to have fun or be serious.”
