2022 Hope House Reunion Gala
Our 2022 Hope House Reunion Gala brought in a record-breaking amount of donations this year, with over $500,000 raised through sponsorships, silent and live auction bidding, a paddle raise and guest registrations. With the help of such a generous community of donors, teen mom alumni and sponsors, we exceeded our $475,000 goal! This year’s 20th annual Reunion Gala was such a special time as 20 teen moms—each representing a different year at Hope House—walked on stage with their oldest child and shared with the audience what they are pursuing in their careers and education. Some of the first children served at Hope House are now in college, pursuing their dreams of medical school and nursing, while their moms are in stable careers and pursuing career advancement in marketing, sales and medical industries. These former teen moms were visible examples of what it looks like to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children!
Maritza, one of our 2022 Hope House graduates, shared her powerful story with the audience. Her strength and confidence shined through as she shared her story and her deep desire to build a bright future for herself and her daughter, Camila!
Our Founder & Executive Director Lisa Steven shared exciting news about our capital campaign for a new Early Learning Center that will help our teen moms access full-time child care for their children, so our moms can work or go to school full-time! Over 75% of the $4.6 million capital campaign has been raised to date! Additionally, Lisa announced a new affiliate, Hope House Cañon City, that will open a residential home for teen moms in 2023. Now there are two Hope House affiliate locations in Colorado, with plans for more Hope House organizations to open across the country!
To end the night, two key people that helped start Hope House Colorado 20 years ago were honored with the Hero of Hope Award. Amie Schuman, co-founder, and John Steven, Lisa’s husband, were recipients of the award this year, which pays honor to champions of Hope House who have made a legacy impact on the organization through his or her dedication to serving the organization through loving support of teen moms and their children, volunteer work, generous giving and prayer.
