Brand Tone
Tone
Our tone is genuine and inspiring. We seek to dignify and respect our teen moms and their stories through a variety of media channels: print, digital, videos and in-person speaking engagements. We use real-life stories in our storytelling, but may occasionally use a pseudonym to protect the identity of a teen mom. Ultimately, we desire to empower our teen moms, allowing them to see how impactful and important their lives and their children’s lives are in our community.
Transformational Giving
It is important to us that our champions (donors) hear about the impact of their giving from a place of gratitude and sincerity. Our tone is always one of incredible appreciation to the champions who give of their time financially, through volunteer work and prayer. We seek to not only see true transformation take place in the lives of our teen moms and their children, but in the lives of our champions too.
AP Style
Hope House uses AP Style in all areas of our communication. This is important because:
- This gives journalists and members of the media information in a way that is easiest and most valuable to them.
- We must maintain consistency in grammar and structure for all communication pieces.
- This maintains professionalism and consistency among all Hope House affiliates.
Internal style components that Hope House upholds (that may override AP Style in select situations):
- Capitalizing job titles in email signatures.
- Abbreviating job titles in processes to keep the information concise.
- When emphasizing statistics on communication publications (i.e. one-pagers, reports, etc.) by the numerical value as a number, even it is at the beginning of a sentence.
